THRILLS AND CHILLS FOR ANDREA BONIFAZI AT MISANO
Andrea Bonifazi returned to Turismo Open racing, taking part in the ATCC race at Misano Adriatico alongside the GT World Challenge Sprint round. SevenHills’ driver from Orvieto was entered in the RS Trophy class, up against some traditional RS Cup rivals such as Lilli and Fazioli, “old acquaintances” Ivan and Pietro Fabris, and the Slovenian Lema Racing drivers Moro and Primozic. It was the latter two who gave Andrea a hard time in Race 1, “relegating” him to fourth in class and fourteenth overall after a tough fight. Bonifazi nevertheless kept Walter Lilli behind him, as Lilli was looking for revenge after his bad luck in the RS Cup on the same Romagna circuit. In Race 2 Bonifazi immediately got into a fierce duel with the Slovenian Primozic, which went on for much of the race with a few unfair moves, especially from the Lema Racing driver. In the end there was contact and the hot-headed Slovenian ended his race against the barriers before the Carro. Bonifazi carried on and took third place among the RS Trophy drivers on track, behind Lilli and Fazioli. Unfortunately, after the race came an unfair exclusion from the classification: Primozic’s obstruction had undoubtedly been excessive. The driver from Orvieto was very satisfied, having also met other old opponents from Super Cup at Misano, such as Nebuloni, Iuorio and Malavolta. There will be no time to rest for Andrea, as next weekend another double round of the RS Cup will be held at Varano, a category in which SevenHills will field no fewer than five cars.
